The Georgikon Faculty
cordially invites you to take part in
LXII. Georgikon Conference
Keszthely, Hungary, 1-2 October 2020
In 1958 two brilliant academic scientists Sándor Belák and Géza Láng launched this event at the former Agricultural Academy in Keszthely. Since then the conference has been held regularly. In the past years our conference continued to flourish; in 2019 146 oral and poster papers were presented in 13 sessions. The theme of this year’s conference is:
Climate change challenges for the next decades
Patron: Dr. Barbara Botos
Vice State Secretary for Climate Policy
Climate change is one to most crucial issues of our times. The European Union has been at the forefront of climate protection, the member states define policy goals to decrease the harmful effects of climate change. The principal issue is how economic operators can contribute to the climate protection, how can they win this “battle” while maintaining their competitiveness. Climate policy, energy production and energy use are closely interrelated. Agriculture can play an important role by creating the harmony in the production of the necessary energy and food/feed stocks, as in climate protection sustainable and secure energy supply including energy storage is becoming ever more prevalent.
